Gateways to Judaism: Intro to Jewish Life and Thought
Are you wondering and/or wandering? Then Gateways to Judaism is for you! Gateways to Judaism is an engaging 16 week program of Jewish exploration and learning. Jews and non-Jews are invited to discover different pathways to living a meaningful Jewish life in today’s world. Explore Jewish wisdom, identity, spirituality, history and observance in a vibrant learning environment. Gateways to Judaism is an opportunity for anyone who is ‘wandering and wondering,’ regardless of prior Jewish knowledge. Inter-faith couples, singles, those considering becoming Jewish and Jews wishing to enhance their understanding of Jewish life are all welcome. Taught by Rabbi David Rose. Classes are offered in two locations – pick one: Monday nights at Agudas Achim in Alexandria, Virginia and Tuesday nights at B’nai Israel in Rockville, Maryland, starting February 22nd or 23rd, 7 pm to 9:00 pm. Rabbi David Rose is Founder and Director of JDiscover. He was ordained at The Jewish Theological Seminary. After serving pulpits in Tampa, Florida, Mercer Island, Washington and most recently Har Shalom in Potomac, Maryland, Rabbi Rose is focusing his rabbinate on opening new gateways to Jewish wisdom and identity. He believes that the riches of Judaism need to be made more accessible to those Jews and non-Jews looking for greater meaning in their lives. Rabbi Rose is a masterful teacher and passionate educator who engages his diverse students in a non-judgmental way, encouraging individual journeys of spiritual and Jewish discovery.
