In order to make Newcomers feel more welcome in an unfamiliar place, our Welcome Program matches members of our Info & Outreach committee with newcomers or those looking to get more involved with the Jewish community. Through this one-on-one connection, we hope to make it a little easier for everyone to get involved in GesherCity and in the Jewish community as a whole.
The Info & Outreach committee member will join you for a cup of coffee or accompany you to a Jewish organization's event, and help you learn more about everything Jewish Boston has to offer. There are several GesherCity sponsored events and other programs that you could attend together.
In addition, they will be a resource for some questions about your local community and the Jewish community. You need not worry about having all the answers. We will provide you with a Resource Guide to your Jewish community and an Information Session on what your Jewish community has to offer. We also have a great infrastructure of people to help you find the answers you need. If you are worried about the time commitment, ask yourself if you have time for one more friend in your life.
